The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and supporting the overall efficiency of the supply chain process. This role involves monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and collaborating with various departments to optimize inventory management practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, locations, and movements.
- Conduct regular physical inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies with the inventory management system.
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and production teams to forecast inventory needs and prevent stockouts or overages.
- Analyze inventory turnover rates and recommend strategies for improving inventory efficiency.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Develop and maintain inventory reporting metrics, providing insights and recommendations to management.
- Assist in the implementation of inventory control systems and processes to streamline operations.
- Train and support staff in inventory management practices and systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in inventory handling and storage.
- Checks work e-mail on a regular basis throughout the workday.
- Participates in and complete all required trainings and in-services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory management or a related role.
- Must be proficient on heavy duty equipment such as forklift, reach truck and scissor lift.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes and best practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
