Salary range is $40,000 – $50,000. Full benefits are included in this position including health insurance, retirement benefits, and paid leave.

Education And Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, child development, or a related field, along with a proven work history demonstrating reliability and experience with school-age students. Alternatively, a combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills will be considered.
- Preferred: Maryland State Childcare 90-Hour Certification, including:
- 45 Hours in Child Growth and Development
- 45 Hours in School-Age Methods and Materials Curriculum
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Extended Day Coordinator will be responsible for the following:
- Program Development & Management: Design, implement, and oversee all Extended Day program activities.
- Staff Supervision & Support: Lead, evaluate, and manage staff while maintaining effective staffing patterns.
- Collaboration & Support: Partner with the Summer in the Country program and Youth & Membership Program as needed.
- Special Closing Days: Plan, schedule and execute with Extended Day staff special closing days.
- Program Enhancement: Work closely with existing programs to enhance the Extended Day experience at Glenelg Country School.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all Maryland State Childcare Licensing Requirements for the Extended Day and Primary School programs.
- Snack Coordination: Manage snack ordering and storage for the Lower and Primary Schools.
- Parent Communication: Draft and distribute clear, professional communication to parents.
- Activity Planning: Collaborate with staff to create engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Team Collaboration: Foster positive relationships with regular school day staff.
- Resource Management: Provide staff with the necessary resources and supplies for successful program activities.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned that support the success of the Extended Day Program.
- Theory and practice of child development for school-age children.
- Operation of Extended Day Programs.
- Keeping track of daily attendance and monthly drop in care.
- Monitor staff development and training.
- Counseling with parents and children.
- Basic computer programs to maintain records of Extended Day Programs.
- Camp brain – the registration software we use for all Youth and Membership Programs
- Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate the work of the Extended Day Program staff.
- Design, implement, and monitor the operation of Extended Day Programs.
- Train Extended Day Program staff.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with adults and children.
- Establish and maintain a safe and healthful environment.
- Exercise good judgment in dealing with sensitive interpersonal problems.
- Establish and maintain records.
