Position Summary
The Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for coaching, mentoring, instructing skills and techniques, and building a sense of community within the team, program, and school. The Head Varsity Girls Soccer Coach works in coordination with the Assistant Girls Soccer Coach as well as under the guidance and in coordination with the Co-Directors of Athletics, in achieving the school and program-wide goals. Glenelg Country School currently competes in the IAAM C Conference and is expecting the Head Coach to grow the program for a move up to the B Conference.
Education And Experience
Previous High School, Club Level, or College Level playing or coaching experience is required.
Essential Functions
Interested individuals should possess good communication skills, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with coaching staff.
Typical Level Of Interaction
This position requires a high level of direct interaction with high school athletes, parents, school administrators, faculty, and other members of the school coaching staff. There is also a high level of direct interaction with members of other communities such as officials, staff from opposing schools, and bus drivers.
Competencies
Coaches are responsible for reporting game results to the Athletic Department as well as responding to emails within 24 hours when in season.
Physical Demands
This position pays $4,000 – $5,000 per coaching season.

- Attend all team activities (meets, practices, gatherings, meetings)
- Ride or drive school provided transportation with team
- Weekly email communication with players and families during the season
- Attend all required athletic department or league meetings
- Responsible for all athletes, equipment, and facilities used while coaching
