What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Custodian position at Glens Falls City School District?
Glens Falls City School District has an anticipated opening for a Head Custodian at Jackson Heights Elementary. This is a 12-month, full-time position. The hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Three years of experience in building cleaning and minor maintenance activities
District Criteria:
- Coordinates, supervises and participates in the day-to-day cleaning, snow removal and event preparation at Jackson Heights Elementary
- Coordinates overtime needs with district head custodians and staff
- Evaluates staff and makes periodic inspections of cleaning activities to ensure tasks are being completed as required
- Enters work order requests and material quotes as needed
Salary: $39,000 (min. per contract)
- The position will be filled based on Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with an examination to be held at a later date. Candidates must meet civil service requirements for appointment following the establishment of an eligible list.
