Position Overview :
As the Assistant Nurse Manager for our ICU, you will provide leadership and operational oversight in delivering high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care. You will collaborate with the Nurse Manager to ensure clinical excellence while mentoring, supporting, and developing the nursing staff. This role requires a leader who is dedicated to fostering a culture of teamwork, providing mentorship, and ensuring that patient and family-centered care is at the core of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist the Nurse Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the ICU, ensuring that clinical care standards are met or exceeded.
Lead, support, and mentor ICU nursing staff, promoting professional development, continuous learning, and teamwork.
Champion a patient- and family-centered care approach, ensuring that all staff provide compassionate, respectful, and personalized care.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement care plans.
Participate in staff performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and facilitating coaching and mentoring to enhance nursing practice.
Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures to ensure best practices in patient care and safety.
Support staff in managing complex, high-acuity patients and assist in clinical decision-making, ensuring safe and effective care.
Monitor and maintain staffing levels, ensuring appropriate nurse-patient ratios and managing the allocation of resources effectively.
Advocate for continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Act as a resource for staff, resolving complex clinical issues and providing guidance during critical situations.
Qualifications :
Graduate from a professional Registered Nurse program.
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
Minimum of 3 years in ICU or critical care nursing preferred.
CCRN certification preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and support staff in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Demonstrated ability to promote patient- and family-centered care, ensuring a compassionate and respectful approach to all patients and their families.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships within the team, across departments, and with patients' families.
Proficiency in critical care technologies and equipment
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
Knowledge of regulatory standards, hospital policies, and quality improvement practices in critical care settings.
Ability to manage change effectively and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment.

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $36.14 to $56.41 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
