The Impact You Can Make
As a member of the healthcare team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the OB Technician assists nursing personnel in the delivery of patient care in the Snuggery Suite, taking into account the patient's special or age-related needs. The OB Technician serves as the scrub technician in Cesarean Sections and selected OB/GYN procedures. This position assumes responsibility for a safe environment and appropriate utilization of resources; directs and performs cleaning, maintenance and processing of instruments and equipment; and restocks and prepares rooms within the Unit. The OB Tech also provides rapid response to patient/family needs and requests.

Education/Experience
- High School Graduate or GED
- Experience in patient care preferred
- Experience in scrub role preferred
- License Practical Nurse/LPN or completion of OR Technician Program required
- Knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and basic Operating Room procedures and equipment preferred
Note: Completion of Glens Falls Hospital Operating Room Orientation will be required for all hires
Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
- Must meet NYS requirements for position
- BLS certification (or obtained within specified timeframe from date of hire)
Skills/Abilities
- Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing with other nursing personnel, patients and physicians
- Ability to work effectively with other nursing personnel, patients, physicians, and members of other departments under the direction of a RN
- Ability to recognize patient care problems, react appropriately in-patient care emergencies and communicate pertinent information to the responsible RN
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculation
- Dependable
- Demonstrated adaptability to change
- Exercises safe judgement in decision making.

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $28.00 to $42.00 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
