The Scheduling Secretary is responsible and accountable to assist in the overall functioning of the Operating Room in response to provider/customer needs encompassing communicative, receptionist, computer and administrative support services. These functions include, but are not limited to, assisting with medical records, contact with Patient Flow to report admissions and deaths, supply and equipment inventory, and unit records. Responsible for surgical schedule and places add-on / inpatient cases on the schedule as appropriate

Responsibilities
- Schedules and coordinates all surgical procedures in accordance with established surgical suite policies while ensuring optimum utilization of time and available space.
- Makes changes to the schedule as necessary, communicating to appropriate staff.
- Resolves problems / conflict related to schedule when appropriate and refers unusual problems / situations to leadership as necessary.
- Keeps leadership and/or Coordinator apprised of potential, immediate, or future problems related to scheduling system.
- Monitors daily Operating Room schedule.
Education/Accredited Programs
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Medical terminology preferred
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to prioritize effectively; good organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively – verbally and in writing – with providers, nurses, patients, families and vendors
- Basic computer literacy; ability to solve basic math problems

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $18.00 to $23.59 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
