What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP, Investment Origination position at Global Atlantic Financial Group?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President, Investment Origination will join the New York-based Global Atlantic Investment Office, which manages the firm’s investment account. The hiring team, Structuring and Asset Solutions, focuses on cross-asset strategic deal structuring and execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with portfolio managers to develop structures to optimize for capital, accounting and tax on assets Global Atlantic acquires.
- Understand and reverse engineer public market transactions to understand capitalization for potential investments.
- Lead relationships with rating agencies to structure, rate, and capitalize origination assets.
- Deep understanding of rating agency criteria across asset classes to develop new models for potential investments.
- Develop and manage models for internal and rating agency analysis.
- Manage documentation and operational processes for GA on-balance sheet transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7 years of relevant work experience in structured products with strong quantitative and modeling skills.
- 3 years of experience in project finance and/or infrastructure transactions.
- Familiarity across structured finance asset classes, including project finance, CLOs, consumer ABS, commercial ABS and real estate.
- Experience with structured finance legal documentation.
- Flexible individual who is both creative and commercial and is comfortable working on multiple transactions at once across a variety of assets.
- Energetic, inquisitive and a high initiative to take on projects.
- Organized with high attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
