Position Overview
Global Citizen is seeking a capable, passionate Senior Associate, Policy Grants, & Partnerships to join our team. This role will be supporting Global Citizen’s efforts in securing significant grants, managing donor engagement, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive forward our policy campaigns. This is a dynamic and exciting role that offers the opportunity to work with governments, private sector, NGOs, and internal stakeholders to drive forward government, industry, and company-specific policy priorities and commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising and Grant Management (60%):
- Work closely with the Senior Director, Policy Initiatives & Grant Implementation across entire development process, in order to drive fundraising and implement grants
- Develop and execute tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies to secure significant grants for the organization’s policy campaigns.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of all policy-related grants, ensuring timely execution of deliverables, clear communication with stakeholders, and impactful reporting to showcase policy outputs and campaign impact.
- Identify potential grantors, write and plan grants, develop and write tailored pitches and proposals for large institutional foundations, and manage each grant through to submission.
- Utilize proficiency in Salesforce and donor research practices to effectively manage partner relationships, track interactions, and identify potential partners for further engagement.
- Develop strong and compelling concept notes and proposals for foundations and multilateral entities.
Compliance and Contract Management (25%):
- Partner closely with the Senior Director, Policy Initiatives & Grant Implementation to refine and enhance the development processes, fortify funding pipelines, and synchronize engagement plans across teams.
- Oversee the grant contracting process, ensuring that all agreements, from routine grants to complex government contracts, adhere to legal and compliance standards.
- Ensure that all fundraising activities are well-documented in Salesforce, tracking grant progress, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and maintaining transparent and efficient processes.
- Monitor grant-related deadlines and deliverables to ensure timely submissions and accountability in the grant execution and reporting processes.
Cross Team Collaboration and Support (15%):
- Work closely with the Deputy Chief Policy and Government Affairs Officer to refine and enhance the development processes, fortify funding pipelines, and synchronize engagement plans across teams.
- Provide technical and analytical support to Deputy Chief Policy and Government Affairs Officer on an as needed basis.
- Work collaboratively with program teams to ensure smooth coordination of proposal development, updates, and the successful integration of grants into ongoing programmatic work.
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the team to ensure high-quality grant writing and reporting, contributing to the development of their skills and capacity.
Requirements for Success
Education & Experience:
- B.A. degree or similar experience.
- 3 years of experience, with non-governmental organizations, international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-profit organizations a plus
- Strong understanding of funding streams; familiarity with funders and philanthropies funding international and global social impact programs; a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to move early-stage prospects to engaged funders.
- Must be a strong project manager with previous experience coordinating large proposals or similarly complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Attributes:
- Proven experience in fundraising, grant management, and proposal writing for a variety of institutional donors, including foundations, bi- and multilateral entities, and government bodies.
- Strong skills in developing and nurturing long-term relationships with funders and stakeholders, with a track record of securing grants and meeting fundraising targets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM systems, with a solid understanding of donor management and tracking tools.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to the development of team members.

- Must be authorized for employment in the United States
- Global Citizen operates on a hybrid work model - 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in our NYC office and 2 days (Monday & Friday) telecommuting.

- Salary Range: $70,000 - $74,000
