JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Director will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, planned giving, and special events within the Northeastern United States (PA, WV, VA, DC, MD, DE, NJ, CT, RI, MA, NH, ME, VT, NY). This position works in partnership with the Vice President of Partner Relations. The Regional Director must currently reside within an hour’s drive of Lancaster, PA; relocation reimbursement is not available.
GOALS
This job exists to:
- Understand and communicate the mission and vision of Global Disciples in compelling ways so increasing numbers of people are actively engaged in praying, giving financially, volunteering, etc.
- Multiply the number of major donors ($10K plus donors) and nurture relationships with them in ways that leads in greater awareness of and investment in the mission and ministry of Global Disciples
- Provide leadership and coordination of fundraising activities in the region for Global Disciples, in cooperation with Vice President of Partner Relations. This position is expected to have a portfolio of donors and raise funds as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct oversight and coordination of the fundraising activities of Global Disciples in the assigned region
- Weekly report to Vice President of Partner Relations concerning activities and growth in the assigned region
- Maintain a proactive, creative leadership role in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors, business giving, contributions from churches and grants from foundations
- Cultivate and directly solicit key partners, working with appropriate staff and volunteers, including regional advocate team(s) and intercessor team(s)
- Prepare or oversee direct mail letters, case statements, grants and brochures required to support fundraising efforts
- Ensure that all partners are appropriately thanked and receive regular communication
- Implement an effective approach to initiate and grow planned giving among partners
- Initiate and implement strategies to fulfill the goals in the Annual Review and Plan of Action (ARPA) for the Partner Relations Team
- Provide detailed reports about fundraising progress to the Vice President of Partner Relations on a regular basis
- Serve as a visible spokesperson and advocate for Global Disciples
This role will require 30-40% travel within their region (6-8 overnights per month).
Passport is required for occasional international travel (yearly).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and an active member of a Christian church
- Passion for the Great Commission, least-reached peoples and the mission and work of Global Disciples. Full alignment with the organization’s statement of faith, goals, purposes and objectives
- Outstanding relational, verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter, initiator who is organized
- Able to relate detail to the overall picture
- Ability to work with a team to develop and implement a strategic plan
- Microsoft Office software experience
- Donor database experience, Salesforce preferred
