What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Dock Coordinator position at Global Distribution Center LLC?
The Shipping and Receiving Dock Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers by prioritizing and scheduling domestic and international shipments. Communicating across departments on material delivery and order variances. Ensuring all tasks directed by the manager are completed timely and accurately.
Job Responsibilities:
- Staff the dock area according to daily shipments and receivables.
- Prepare and label orders for shipment, including boxing, labeling, and palletizing.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently if necessary.
- Make sure shipments are loaded correctly, secured, and within determined load times.
- Identifying compromised incoming shipments and marking paperwork as such, including creation of NCMR Records.
- Ensure all items are picked up and off the dock prior to EOD.
- Communicate with Supervisor to move materials for ship outs as needed.
- Organize and maintain the storage of materials in and around the facility – including the yard.
- Review and verify documentation, such as work orders and other paperwork, for accuracy.
- Communicating cross departmentally
- Perform inventory cycle count audits on all shipping & live inventory locations
- Maintain a clean and organized area to facilitate material flow, both inbound and outbound
- Maintain accurate records of all items related to shipping, as needed for accounting records
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- Maintain records of the scrap log.
- Track & maintain all records of missed shipments – ensuring all shipments are picked up.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving dock operations.
- Forklift operation experience is required.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and shipping platforms preferred
- Knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve logistics challenges.
- Ability to act autonomously when needed.
- Understanding of logistics involving carriers and scheduling
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in basic math skills for accurate inventory management.
- Computer literacy and experience with relevant software applications.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
Language Skills:
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and other department personnel.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Certifications:
- Must be willing to attain Forklift license
Physical Demands:
- This position requires physical demand. Must be able to occasionally lift at least 50 lbs.
