What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Teacher Interventionist position at Global Educational Excellence?
Provide 6-12 math intervention support for students and coordinate materials and resources used for education. Carry out assessments of students’ needs using official assessments. Assess student progress based on classroom and teacher observations. Participate in student evaluation meetings. Provide support in the student’s classroom. Cooperate with math Paraprofessionals, Math Teacher and Math Coach in working with the child in the mainstream classroom. Facilitate home/school liaison between staff and parents. Draft and review institutional policies relating to the education of students for math education. Attend staff meetings and other Academy-related events and activities. Participate in in-service training as assigned. Attend conferences and seminars and presents information to staff. Work with enrollment staff in proper identification of students requiring additional support in mathematics. Maintain records of individual
student’s progress. Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor – Math, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field of
study; will accept equivalent foreign degree.
Requires a valid State of Michigan Permit to teach.
Experience: Two (2) years in the position above, as a Math Teacher or in a related
teaching role;
Experience must include:
1. Secondary school classroom instruction
2. Classroom instruction in the content area of math
3. Passing score for MTTC Mathematics (Secondary)
