Position Overview: The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This includes a broad range of tasks such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with labor laws, and maintaining a positive company culture. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of HR functions, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Address employee issues and work to resolve conflicts.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote employee engagement.
Performance Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance management programs.
- Support managers with performance appraisals, feedback, and employee development plans.
- Ensure timely follow-up on performance-related issues.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Assist with salary and benefits administration.
- Help employees with questions regarding compensation, benefits, and payroll.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations regarding compensation and benefits.
HR Policies and Compliance:
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Help ensure company policies and procedures are compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records in line with compliance standards.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviews, and job offers.
- Coordinate new hire orientations and onboarding processes.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and role specifications.
Training and Development:
- Support the development and delivery of employee training programs.
- Identify training needs and coordinate with internal/external trainers or resources as needed.
- Promote continuous learning and development within the organization.
HR Administration:
- Assist in managing employee data and HR systems.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data analysis for HR metrics.
- Maintain personnel files, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Health, Safety, and Well-being:
- Assist in promoting a healthy and safe work environment for employees.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Support wellness initiatives and programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum of two or more years of Human Resources experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (e.g., HRIS, ATS).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
- Experience with HR software systems (Workday, ADP, BambooHR, etc.).
- Multilingual skills are a plus.
