Human Resources Generalist β Bilingual
Reports To: CHRO
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will drive the effective management of all HR functions for a dynamic real estate property management firm with approximately 500 employees across multiple entities, including unionized staff. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, optimizing HR processes, and fostering a positive and productive work environment through strategic HR initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR and payroll experience.
- Proven ability to analyze complex HR data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong computer proficiency, including experience with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now, Prestige Administrators, ESS Union website software preferred).
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Performance Measures:
- Compliance audits.
- Payroll accuracy.
- Time-to-fill for open positions.
- Employee satisfaction surveys.
- Union relations.
- Timely completion of HR projects.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures in employee relations, company policy,
- compensation, workplace safety, and benefits.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal compliance regulations.
- Recommendations to Management of policies that align with business plan.
- Recruit and screen potential job applicants.
- Background and drug screening on potential employees and completion of new
- hire paperwork and orientation.
- Work closely with unions (Local 2 and 32BJ) to facilitate compliance of union
- contracts.
- Respond and assist in all personnel issues.
- Facilitate employee communications on policy changes and modifications.
- Facilitate workers compensation claims, medical and disability leave.
- Guide managers through employee related issues of various magnitudes to
- minimize liability.
- Collection of all payroll data for payroll administration on a weekly basis.
- Allocation of payroll to entities on a monthly basis.
- Keep track of vacation, sick, and personal days for all employees.
- Maintain personnel files on all employees.
- Coordination of employee benefits and enrollments.
- All other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources/Payroll.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to multitask and must be very confidential with employee information.
- Solid computer skills required.
- ADP Workforce Now a plus
- Prestige Administrators software a plus
- ESS Union website software a plus
- Candidate must be self-motivated, well organized and have the ability to work as
a team player in an office environment.
