Global Environmental & Industrial Response (GEIR) is hiring a Cost Accountant who will be responsible for analyzing and tracking project expenditures and operational costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, to ensure projects remain on budget and profitable and to identify areas for possible cost reductions. This position will also need to prepare financial reports for management decision-making and ensure accurate cost reporting by developing and maintaining cost accounting systems.

Global provides heavy industrial cleaning services to utilities, phosphate/ mining, chemical plants, pulp & paper, and manufacturing facilities with specialization in hydro blasting and vacuum truck work. We provide customized solutions for sulfuric acid facilities, including preventative maintenance and repairs, and full turn-key turnaround services. We also offer a variety of environmental services, which include but are not limited to emergency spill response, soil remediation, tank cleaning, soft-dig services, waste transportation, and disposal.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Daily examination and tracking of the costs related to multiple ongoing projects to maintain and protect projected margins.
- Ensure purchasing processes are being followed and research material costs to ensure the accuracy of the information in the company’s accounting system.
- Ensure accurate classification of expenses under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Analyze project costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard prices to actual production costs.
- Participating in physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
- Monitor the accumulation of all direct labor, overhead, and other manufacturing-related expenses.
- Work closely with management to determine opportunities to maximize profit and minimize waste.

PAY:
· $65,000 – $75,000 per year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 - 3 years of Cost Accounting experience in a construction, manufacturing, or project services environment or an equivalent role.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Advanced computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, emails, etc.)
- Exceptional ability to think critically and make decisions based on data analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in discussing financial reports with company stakeholders.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills and be able to interface with employees at all levels of the company.
- Professional oral and written interpersonal communication.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and a team player.
