Qualified and experienced clerk to manage a small private, U.S. Customs Bonded warehouse. Clerk will be responsible for filing entries, withdrawals, transfers, manipulations, entries for consumption and duty drawbacks, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all U.S. Customs Bonded regulations, using the Magaya software platform.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit Import admissions, entry type 01 and 21.
- Prepare and submit CBP Forms 7512.
- Prepare and submit withdrawals for consumption, for export and domestic.
- Prepare and submit withdrawals for bonded warehouses.
- Prepare and submit manipulations, destructions, and temporary removals
- Must be familiar with filling in-bond shipments, IE, IT, processing of 7512
- Maintain proper record keeping for all entries.
- Interact with Customs and Border Protection, when necessary, receive and attend to Customs inspectors when they visit.
- Routinely update and report to management concerning activities or issues related to Import shipments.
- Coordinate import/export shipment activities with freight forwarders, and logistics services providers.
- Assist with coordinating cargo pickup, transfer, and ability to monitor throughout the entire shipment
· Audit files to ensure accuracy and completion.
· Ensure accurate data entry and document upload into the system.
· Stay up to date on changes in import/export regulations and industry best practices.
· Proactively identify and resolve shipping issues (delays, documentation errors, damage, etc.) to ensure smooth operations.
· Resolve discrepancies related to shipping charges or customs-related issues efficiently.
· Insure incoming shipments according to company procedures.
Qualifications
· Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and compliance.
- Experience with transportation and/or logistics industry.
- Experience using Magaya software.
- Experience and knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documents, and international trade regulations, Ocean/air for imports/exports.
- Experience and familiarity of US customs and clearance.
- Ethical and team player.
- Good management and organizational skills.
SKILLS
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Education College/University degree preferred.
Experience
- ⊠ 2-3 years minimum of experience in logistics (Import, Export), CBP transactions including bond issuance and closure
