Job Summary
Small but growing private company is seeking an experienced Purchasing / Inventory Control Manager to join our small team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient inventory control. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and experience in utilizing systems such as QuickBooks Enterprise for effective purchasing operations. The roll will report to the President directly.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with company goals.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products.
- Oversee inventory management processes, including tracking stock levels and forecasting needs.
- Help develop a MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to optimize inventory control.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Conduct regular assessments of supplier performance and implement improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with other team members to forecast demand and manage procurement schedules.
Experience
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably as a Purchasing Manager or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of vendor management, inventory control, and contract negotiation processes.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks or similar procurement systems is essential.
- Familiarity with inventory management principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers (international and domestic!).
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
