Description
General Definition:
The Program Seller obtains or receives racing products, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for customers by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Functions:
- Verifies inventory and cash bank prior to start of shift
- Accurately completes sales transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures in a friendly, professional manner.
- Follows financial responsibility procedures.
- Greets customers upon entry to simulcast facility, grandstand, or any other designated area where customer’s entry or patronage is required in a friendly, professional manner.
- Balances cash and inventory at the end of shift with the assistance of the Retail Sales Supervisor.
- Approaches all encounters with guest and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Dependability, good attendance, and occasional overtime required.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled.
- Have the ability to accomplish a multitude of duties as assigned
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Requires excellent communication skills, basic math and reasoning ability under extreme public scrutiny.
- Strong cash handling experience required
- Detail-oriented and able to perform multiple tasks as assigned.
- Excellent customer service and cash handling skills required.
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English and to follow instructions as given.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Data entry skills a plus.
Training:
- Six (6) month related experience and/or training; or combination.
Licenses/Certifications/Other:
- Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency if applicable to perform the essential job functions
