- Assess learner performance and provide feedback to ensure competency in using the Epic system for surgeries.
- Role-Specific Training:
- Provide training tailored to the specific needs of the surgical staff, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative workflows in the system.
- Ensure that users are proficient in handling patient records, surgical scheduling, documentation, and case management within the Epic system.
- Support Post-Training:
- Act as a point of contact for users after training, addressing questions and helping them troubleshoot challenges they encounter while using the system in the surgical environment.
- Conduct periodic follow-up training sessions or refresher courses as necessary to ensure continued proficiency with the system.
Application Technical Support (ATE):
- Technical Assistance:
- Provide ongoing technical support to surgical teams to resolve any Epic system issues related to surgery (e.g., glitches, user error, troubleshooting).
- Act as a liaison between the surgical team and IT/technical support staff to report and resolve system bugs or inefficiencies.
- Monitor system performance and help identify potential issues in workflows, offering technical solutions and advice.
- System Updates & Testing:
- Assist with the testing of system updates, patches, or new releases related to the surgical modules (OpTime, Anesthesia, etc.).

- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with surgical staff, IT teams, and other stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong technical skills in EHR systems, troubleshooting, and application support, specifically for Epic or similar systems.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to quickly resolve issues related to system performance or user difficulties within the surgery modules.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in training materials, documentation, and ensuring systems function seamlessly in the fast-paced surgical environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

- Additional Epic Credentials: Credentialing in additional Epic modules like Beaker (for lab integration) or Surgical Scheduling could be a plus.
- Project Management Skills: Experience with project management and organizing training schedules and technical updates.
Work Environment:
- Typically a hospital or large healthcare facility where surgery teams use Epic systems in a clinical setting.
- May involve a mix of on-site and remote work (particularly for training, but with some travel for in-person sessions).
- Requires the ability to work in fast-paced environments, particularly in the OR (Operating Room) or surgical environments.
