We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team that is willing and able to learn and work hard. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing all in and outbound shipments as well as packing and labeling of outbound shipments. This position requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Process all in and outbound shipments including but not limited to sorting, logging, delivering, packing, and shipping in the shipping department.

· Audit each shipment prior to packing to ensure that goods match order.

· Pack and label product based on established standards.

· Prepare shipping and receiving documentation; maintains orderly files for all documentation.

· Process all receiving transactions and paperwork in shipping department.

· Assist in maintaining shipping supplies inventory levels.

· Assist in responses to requests for tracing of missing shipments.

· Assist in maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in shipping area.

· Perform required administrative tasks; prepares all required reports and correspondence.

· Ensure part count and data entry is accurate and correct consistently for both the Job Traveler and MES computer system.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

· Ability to understand safety requirements.

· Basic computer skills.

· Use simple math to perform basic calculations.

· Use basic hand-held measuring tools.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods; ability to learn and understand the process is the most essential skill.

· Basic mechanical ability.

· Ability to read and interpret drawings and follow job travelers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to move, reach, lift, handle, feel, ascend/descend, observe, inspect, detect, handle or position self to observe. Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs frequently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a machine shop environment. Must be able to remain standing/walking position for majority of the time. This position is required to work with a vertical shipping system. There is exposure to machine oil, metal filings, unpleasant odors and noise. Job functions on and around mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy and safety awareness.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
