Business Development Manager – Nurse Navigation

The Business Development Manager is a critical member of the Growth Team responsible for developing new installations of GMR’s 911 Nurse Navigation program for new and existing clients. They work independently and collaboratively across all departments in identifying potential locations and develop a business plan to achieve success for greenfield growth. They gather verifiable data to analyze business opportunities. They develop, maintain, and are responsible for customer relationships during the entire sales cycle, from prospecting through contract execution and transition to implementation and operations. They develop sales presentations, lead proposal development, and draft and negotiate contracts. They are responsible for closing sales and achieving growth targets in their assigned sectors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Oversee all phases of new customer development, from prospecting through close.
• Works independently and collaboratively to identify potential new locations and develops a business plan to achieve success for greenfield growth.
• Gathers and analyzes data with the development team on new locations.
• Works collaboratively with lead generation, marketing, public relations, and operations to develop sales strategies.
• Validates and interprets information gathered through on-site visits, local and industry and competitive intelligence.
• Thinks broadly to develop new sales strategies, pitches, and client approaches.
• Enters, tracks, and updates lead and pipeline information in Salesforce.
• Attends tradeshows and industry conferences as a representative of the program.
• Assists in the development and budget planning process in conjunction with senior management.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, Marketing, Healthcare or related field or a combination of education and experience.
• EMT or paramedic certification (current or past) strongly encouraged.

Skills

• Sales training courses/experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills in a MS Windows environment and Microsoft Office Suite, especially in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• *Skilled in long sales cycles (18 months), complex sales, and selling to government entities.
• *Business to business / business to government (B2B / B2G) prospecting, RFP response, presentation, and contract negotiation skills.
• *Persuasive writing and proposal development.
• Interpreting proformas and financial statements to understand revenue and EBITDA implications.
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Exhibits professionalism, is ethical and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Well-organized, analytical and self-directed; entrepreneurial traits.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to relate to and interact with people at all levels of an organization.

Experience

• Two (2) years of B2B / B2G sales and/or business development experience required; 5 years preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in emergency medical services, 911 dispatch, or a metropolitan fire department.
• In-depth understanding of services and operations related to delivery of 911 EMS.
