What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Construction Estimator / Project Manager position at Global Recruiters Network of Bloomington?
We are a growing commercial contractor who leverages our experience to proactively meet our client’s needs. We are looking for proactive, accountable, invested, transparent, and resourceful people to expand our team. The estimator is responsible for the management and execution of all estimating responsibilities for our commercial construction projects. Our projects encompass multiple segments including medical office, manufacturing, warehouse, institutional, religious, multi-tenant, retail, education, and general commercial. We use multiple delivery methods to meet our clients’ needs including single prime contracts, design-bid-build contracts, and cost-plus contracts. As with all employees at our firm, the Project Manager is required to actively participate our Safety & Health program Estimator Duties
- Meeting with clients to determine project needs and develop a scope of work that exceeds client expectations.
- Work with design partners to determine initial code requirements and breakdown projects into our systematic format.
- Assemble bid documents and issue Invitations to Bid to sub trade partners and material suppliers.
- Request necessary bonds.
- Complete bid forms,
- Complete all estimating functions and submission of bid proposals.
- Develop work scopes and bid packages for design build projects from concept drawings.
- Assemble bid packages for sub trades and material suppliers and manage the bid process.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing.
- Complete budget estimates from limited concept drawings
- Complete proposals and RFP responses from detailed construction drawings & specifications
- Presentation of estimates and proposals to clients.
- Update budget estimates as projects advance through the design phases as requested by clients.
- Integrate estimates with accounting software
- Set up new projects post-award Job Requirements
- Understanding of all components of commercial building construction
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details
- Ability to read & understand construction drawings & specifications.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering and a minimum of 5 years of related experience in commercial construction estimating or 10 years of related experience in commercial construction estimating
