Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the monthly closing process and related reporting. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities accurately and timely. This role reports to the Controller and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
· Accurately Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP as part of the closing function.
· Maintains systems for accounting and control.
· Assists with the month-end closing.
· Organize, update, and compile financial reports ensuring they are accurate.
· Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization.
· Resolve daily interface exceptions.
· Reconcile accounts assigned on a timely basis.
· Track both the supplier payables and customer receivables for the company by performing any necessary data entry and report generation and preparing monthly reports on the status of accounts while maintaining an accurate day-to-day ledger.
· Verifies and confirms payment of assigned prepaid invoices associated with insurance and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts and reconciled at month-end.
· Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
· Assists with Budgeting and Federal Contracting
· Assists with Cash Flow Projections
Experience:
· Recent college graduates and experienced hires with up to 3-4 years of prior corporate or public accounting experience.
· Strong Excel skills.
· Knowledge of GAAP.
· Quickbooks or other accounting software

Education:
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
