Role Purpose:
- This strategic sourcing manager will be responsible for leading the sourcing activities for projects across the Selling General and Administrative (SG&A) category.
- These services will include but are not limited to, Financial Services, Professional Services, and HR-related services.
- The strategic sourcing manager analyzes data and works with internal business partners to identify opportunities, develop strategies, develop, and manage RFx’s, and negotiate agreements in this area.
- Must have the ability to think analytically, work independently, and manage multiple competing priorities.
Basic Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in a sophisticated sourcing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, law, or a related field.
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY; generally contributing from the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Strong proficiency in all stages of the sourcing life cycle (from market analysis to procure to pay), especially the negotiation of contractual agreements.
- Cost Modeling: Ability to understand cost drivers and how to break down cost structures
- Skills and flexibility to assume a variety of projects in the aforementioned categories are required.
- Quantitative analytics skills including the ability to analyze complex data and build cost models.
- Communication and Interpersonal skills including crisp verbal skills plus effective listening skills; and effective facilitation skills.
- Execution skills including persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Analyze spending data from a variety of sources to develop and implement sourcing strategies.
- Build pricing models and financial analysis in support of negotiation strategies.
- Negotiate and implement deals that maximize cost savings, improve service levels, mitigate contractual risks, and create/improve overall value for our client for the category areas mentioned above.
- Manage the RFx process utilizing sourcing best practices.
- Negotiate contracts with a focus on commercial terms
- Develop project plans, deliverables, metrics, and milestones. Implement process disciplines and management systems necessary to achieve desired results.
