Key Responsibilities:
- Specimen Handling: Receive, sort, and process specimens according to established procedures.
- Laboratory Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Laboratory Tasks: Centrifuge specimens, print labels, record data, store and retrieve specimens, prepare reagents and media and prepare specimens for testing.
- Quality Control: Perform QA/QC duties as assigned.
- Administrative Tasks: Resolve pending lists, find missing samples, decontaminate work areas, perform weekly radioactive wipe tests, and maintain department records.
- Safety: Adhere to all PPE requirements and safety regulations.
- Computer Skills: Utilize laboratory computer systems and operate PCs.
- Training: Complete required training and competency checklists.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant training is a plus. Math and science courses are preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
