Our client is looking for an experienced Azure Architect on a full-time opportunity in Atlanta, GA.
This role requires in-depth experience in design, delivery, and operations of a multi-cloud hosting environment and an in-depth understanding of cloud computing architecture, technologies, services, storage platforms, databases, networks, security, operations, and governance.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 8 years of experience in a related field. Maintains expert knowledge in area of responsibility with a strong understanding in adjacent areas for the development of creative solutions.
- Proficient in Azure services, such as Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Microsoft Purview, Azure Private Link, Azure SQL MI, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus, and Azure Service Fabric.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) (not required).
- Strong experience with virtualization, storage replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience with migration of IT infrastructure, services, applications, and systems from an on-premises environment to Azure.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Professional certification in Azure, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- Leads the architecture and design of White Cap’s Azure environment and ensures compliance with the pillars of the Azure Well Architected Framework, as well as Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools, such as Terraform and Bicep.
- Leads the technical strategy to migrate applications and services to Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Drives the development and maintenance of cloud architectural and governance policies and procedures and the architecture for cloud-based solutions that meet business needs.
- Collaborates with software, network, data, and security teams to ensure a secure, performance, reliable and cost-effective cloud hosting environment.
- Collaborates with IT security teams to implement and manage cloud security policies, standards, and best practices.
- Ensures cloud systems and applications meet White Cap’s requirements for disaster and business recovery as well as seamless interoperability between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Provides consultation and mentoring to infrastructure and development staff. Provides guidance and training on cloud architecture best practices.
- Stays current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and industry developments and advises on the adoption of new Azure features and services. Evaluates and recommend Azure services based on business requirements and industry best practices.
- Analyzes and ensure that proper observability, monitoring, and alerting systems are in place for systems, services, and applications.
