Job Summary:
The Venous Sonographer is responsible for performing high-quality venous ultrasound examinations to assess and diagnose venous diseases, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and other vascular conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in venous disease and hold relevant certification (RVT, RVS, or RPhS).
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venous duplex ultrasound exams in accordance with established protocols.
Evaluate venous anatomy, hemodynamics, and pathology.
Identify and document abnormalities such as DVT, venous reflux, and venous obstruction.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging reports.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to discuss findings.
Adhere to infection control and quality assurance standards.
Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment as needed.
Stay updated on advancements in venous sonography techniques.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Certification: Must be certified as RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist), RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist), or RPhS (Registered Phlebology Sonographer).
Experience: Prior experience in venous disease evaluation and vascular ultrasound.
Education: Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or vascular technology program preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in venous duplex ultrasound imaging.
Strong knowledge of venous anatomy and pathology.
Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
