What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Counselor - School Year 2025-26 position at Global Village Academy Collaborative?
Essential Functions:
- Provide counseling services to students to enhance personal, social, and academic success
- Provide crisis intervention, short-term counseling, group counseling and development
- Coordinate and develop 504 plan in consultation with teachers and parents
- Participate in our MTSS (formerly RTL) process
- Refine school counseling program to meet the needs of K-8 school
- Collect and report data as needed
- Engage in professional involvement in district meetings
- Attendance at parent teacher conferences
- Master's Degree in School Counseling, or other related discipline including school psychology and school social work
- CDE License required with a School Counselor endorsement
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong skills working with families and community partners
- Experience working with 504 plans and students with disabilities
- Ability to maintain high ethical and legal standards in a school setting
- Knowledge of the ASCA National Model and willingness to develop and implement a comprehensive counseling program
- Charter school experience preferred
- Elementary and middle school experience preferred
- Familiarity with Infinite Campus preferred
- Experience with behavior de-escalation, intervention and conflict resolution preferred
