Job duties include : Assess students' crisis and mental health needs and modify interventions. Provide direct-indirect counseling services to students. Counsel students regarding educational issues, such as school adjustment, truancy, study habits, and career planning. Analyze data to identify factors that negatively affect academic performance. Provide short term individual and group counseling to students to overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems. Demonstrate the knowledge and use of strategies to address prevention, remediation, skill development, and crisis intervention for student success. Provide crisis intervention to students when difficult situations occur at schools. Be available for student support when needed. Maximize and prioritize assistance based on individual student needs. Attend professional development opportunities to stay current on issues affecting young people.
