What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Wildlife Center Guide position at Global Wildlife Center?
We are hiring for a Tour Guiding customer service position at Global Wildlife Center, one of the largest free roaming animal preserves in the nation! Must be able to work weekends. This is a physically demanding job and requires working in all elements throughout the year. Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
Our Tour Guides perform a variety of tasks. They will be expected to:
- Conduct guided tours for individuals or groups, ensuring an enjoyable and educational experience.
- Engage with guests through effective public speaking and storytelling techniques.
- Manage time effectively to adhere to tour schedules while allowing for guest interaction.
- Address questions and provide additional information as needed to enhance the tour experience.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all participants during tours.
- Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service throughout the tour.
- Perform physical work such as picking up heavy feed bags and buckets, using a blower, keeping our visitor center clean, etc.
- All Tour Guides are cross trained in Box Office and Gift Shop.
Qualification Requirements
- Must be able to excel in maintaining a positive/upbeat attitude.
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to communicate clearly and engagingly.
- Excellent time management skills to keep tours on schedule.
- Passion for educating others about wildlife and conservation.
- Leadership qualities that foster a positive group dynamic during tours.
- Previous experience in customer service is preferred to enhance guest interactions.
- A friendly demeanor with a commitment to providing exceptional visitor experiences.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and perform physical work as described above.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to cater to diverse audiences.
