Job Summary :

The Business Development Specialist will be an integral part in growing the company’s government business accounts, increasing its revenue, and finding new business opportunities while simultaneously interacting with government healthcare organizations and government agencies to represent and protect the organization’s business plans and interests. The incumbent will provide holistic support to the Government Affairs team, to include administrative, logistical and project support. The individual will conduct equipment demonstrations, onsite training, technical liaison work, and actively participate in many different business responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Assist senior management and leadership with strategic planning for known and potential regulatory activities related to the business and industry
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with members of Government medical entities and health agencies
  • Join professional associations & committees and seek leadership roles
  • Collaborate with industry advocates to build areas of common interest
  • Maintain current client relationships and identify areas for growth
  • Contact government leaders to establish and build business relationships
  • Develop new market opportunities by either developing partnerships or innovative ways to use existing products and services
  • Research competition, technological evolution, and regulatory changes in the virtual health industry and use this information to create new opportunities to expand business
  • Work closely with Product Management and Operations to ensure all products meet government standards
  • Populate the CRM database with sales information and sales support activities
  • Provide timely and accurate communications with other employees, senior management, partners, vendors, and customers
  • Ensure timely execution of all assigned projects; provide backup for other members of the team to ensure team action items are completed
  • Lead projects, conduct product demonstrations, gather market research, and develop engagement strategies
  • Provide customer service throughout entire life cycle of customer relationships to include : pre / post sales, project support, maintaining relationships, product phase out / in, customer feedback, etc.
  • Present GlobalMed products to prospective partners, and customers via formal presentations and product demonstrations
  • Assess customer requirements to ensure GlobalMed products meet or exceed the intent
  • Provide product training to customers as required (serves as an alternate trainer)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or four years of related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years of experience working at one or more of the following Federal Departments or Agencies : Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of State, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Department of Homeland Security, and / or Department of Health and Human Services
  • At least two years of experience selling into one or more of the following Federal Departments or Agencies : Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of State, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Department of Homeland Security, and / or Department of Health and Human Services
  • Skills & Competencies :

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Technical skills required to create proposals and find solutions to meet client requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet goals and set priorities
  • Be proactive, organized and handle work under stressful and uncertain environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Robust relationships across federal, state, and local government
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Must have experience with Windows OS, MacOS, Video Conferencing, and mobile operating systems
  • Experience speaking to both small and large audiences
  • High degree of integrity in handling and processing confidential and sensitive information
  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow through
  • Familiarity with CRM database (i.e., Hubspot or NetSuite CRM) a plus
  • Familiarity with governmental organizations (e.g., the Department of Defense) and their missions and structure a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel (domestic and international) up to 25% of the time
  • Physical Demands & Work Environment :

  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to utilize telephone / video conferencing for approximately 2-4 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift and / or move at least 50 pounds.
  • Frequently remain in a stationary position throughout day.
  • Occasionally move about inside and outside the premises.
