CNC PROGRAMMER

Job Objective
The Programmer provides the shop floor with programs and all necessary support documents to run medium to high complexity parts made from a variety of material types on 3 and 5 axis machines. Assist the shop in problem solving and optimization of part programs.
Essential Job Functions
· Proficiency in CATIA V5 regarding Product structure and Part design.
· Ability to create cutting paths and program for 3 to 5 axis machines.
- Create and optimize NC programs for medium to high complexity 3 and 5 axis parts.
· Analyze blueprints, engineering models, engineer drawings and electronic control tools before programming and compare results with original planning specifications.
- Efficiently program, test, and revise machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
- Assist CNC machine operators when program problems arise.
- Develop better methods to improve programming efficiency.
- Create and evaluate tests of tools and methods in an effort to improve efficiency.
- Ability to meet a provided deadline on time.
- Able to work on a team or independently, communicate effectively and follow directions.
- Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, engineers, and machinists to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to manufacturing processes, quality, and assembly.
· Ability to interact professionally with others, both internally and externally.
- Support Quality Department in identifying and resolving non-conformances.
Work Environment
· Usual working days/hours: Monday - Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm; Friday 6:00am – 3:30pm. Working hours are subject to change based company needs, may require working additional overtime on Saturdays.
· Manufacturing shop environment
Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology preferred but not required.
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CNC programming for machining centers in a manufacturing and machining environment. CATIA V5 experience required, Unigraphics (UG) experience preferred.
· Advanced knowledge of reading blueprints, interpreting specifications and GD&T
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
· Must work well in a team and collaborative environment.
