What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Metacycle Llc?
Responsible to program, setup, and run CNC Mills, Conventional Mills and Lathes, and Secondary equipment for as needed, along with helping with other production needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan CNC and Secondary operations by reviewing work orders
- Input daily production and WIP in IQMS
- Program CNC machines by analyzing drawings, blueprints, and design data in order to calculate correct part dimension for machines, tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates
- Using Hurco conversational and G-Code
- Store programs for easy retrieval
- Set up Lathe and Mills as needed
- Operate CNC Mills and Conventional Mills and Lathes as needed for production
- Set up Secondary equipment for production
- Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise
- Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and organizing
- Works with engineering and supervisory personnel to troubleshoot and resolve design, equipment and operating difficulties
- Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC and other machines
- Perform preventative maintenance duties as scheduled by maintenance department
- Completes ALL paperwork timely and completely
- Maintain an organized and clean production area using 5S principles, ensuring a safe work environment
- Report timely and work to resolve all safety, quality & machine issues to supervision
- Follows all procedures, rules and works in a safe manner
- Perform other duties as required
High School Diploma (or equivalent).
Knowledge of CNC Programming, MRP (IQMS), tooling change and machine setup.
Some hands-on experience with plastic processing, leadership, machining, and blueprint reading are required.
Prioritize work through area. CNC experience is preferred.
