Hiring Salary: $49,609- Depending on Qualifications
Under general supervision, the Recreation Supervisor coordinates, supervises and administers recreational activities and programs for the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Employee must exercise initiative and creativity to implement programs that address community needs. Employee must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with employees, contractors, volunteers, general public, and program participants. Reports to the Recreation Superintendent.
Job Highlights
- Directs, coordinates and supervises County-sponsored recreational programs, classes and events for youth and adults.
- Interviews, hires and supervises part-time employees and contractors to lead activities.
- Conducts evaluations and determines participation level in County programs.
- Enters program information into registration software, manages administrative and financial tasks related to activities in registration and spreadsheet software.
- Appears before schools, civic, and community groups to make presentations designed to facilitate positive public image for the department.
- Assists with planning and implementing special events.
- Assists with office supervision when necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in recreation planning, marketing, or a related field.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in recreation planning, marketing, or related work.
Special Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license; possess and maintain a driving record that meets established Gloucester County Driving Standards.
