Summary
This position is responsible for the daily scanning of vehicles throughout the site to identify locations. This position will walk from vehicle to vehicle scanning bar codes, and verifying VIN numbers according to the information listed on the scanner. All duties will be performed in accordance to GLOVIS process and procedures.

Responsibilities
- Scan and verify VIN numbers of vehicles
- Walk unit to unit to scan vehicles in the lot at the VPC entrance side
- Use a hand-held scanner to scan vehicle bar codes and verify VIN numbers
- Timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks
- Work at a rapid pace, while following company standards/procedures, safety guidelines, and colors being used.
- Report any issues to the supervisors' attention immediately
- Effective communication
- Communicate effectively with internal/external customers, peers, and supervisors to meet and exceed customer expectation
- Stay well-informed of any changes in tasks or policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Automotive knowledge
- Knowledge of hand held electronics
- Drive both automatic and stick shift vehicles
- Read/Write in English
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Most hold a valid state issued Driver's License
- Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods
- Repetitive use of hand/grasping product, writing, and typing
- Lift up to 35 lbs.
- Carry up to 35 lbs.
- Stand/walk
- Must be comfortable working at heights (e.g., upper decks of rail cars)
- Must be comfortable operating heavy machinery such as buck loader

- Typical office environment with low-level noise exposure based in a plant manufacturing/warehouse setting.
- Ability to operate hand-held scanner
- Ability to operate a computer, copy/fax machine
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Exposure to vehicle fumes
- The position is based in a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment.
- Communication with employees and field partners will be primarily conducted via phone and email.
