Summary
The Chief Operations Officer of Glovis America's Logistics Business will oversee all operations and service developments for Finished Vehicle (FV) customers and participate in improving capacity and effectiveness of the operations while ensuring proper representation of procurement and projects to high level constituents. As head of operations, the COO is tasked with making the supply chain as efficient as possible to reduce overhead and operating costs and to increase the speed with which the business can bring new products to market.
Compensation Range
$348,000 - $373,000/Annually
Responsibilities
- Primary
- Oversee Vehicle Logistics, Port and VPC Processing Operations, and Operations Support Departments with a result based on contract compliance for current customers.
- Participate in corporate engagement for internal and external affairs, as directed, as a member of the executive team.
- Make recommendations to improve the overall profitability of GLOVIS based on established targets for cost initiatives or other
changes to establish profit improvement. - Assume leading role in Cost Initiatives for added areas, when requested.
- Participate in TFT's for preparing new services capability.
- Negotiate rates with current customers.
- Manage all projects related to vehicle logistics and port processing, including new business.
- Secure Transportation Capacity.
- Negotiate with vendors/suppliers to secure advantageous terms
- Finalize contract terms
- Support budget forecast for business plan as needed
- Establish processes and procedures for business continuity

- Make recommendations for organizational development of the Logistics Business Group.
- Participate in corporate policies for reporting and meeting engagement.
- Participate in corporate policies for staff development in support of HR.

Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree Required: Masters Degree Preferred
- 10-15 Years of Experience in Logistics, Transportation, Etc. Required; 15-20 Years of Experience Vehicle Logistics, Vehicle Processing Preferred
- 7-10 Years of Managerial Experience in Related Fields Required
- Operations and Safety Training Required: Kaizen and Six-Sigma Preferred
- Driver License Required
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
