Summary
As Head of the Maquiladora Forwarding Group, the Director - Maquiladora Forwarding position will oversee all aspects of Maquiladora business for Glovis America.
Responsibilities
- Primary
- Responsible for managing the overall Maquiladora business
- Work to ensure customer service and customer transactions are in order
- Lead all departments in group
- Work closely with all GUS supporting departments to align with group needs
- Facilitate business/operation performance and efficiency gains
- Pursue business development to increase/achieve MQ business goals
- Create/develop/proceed/lead new business projects
- Manage the preparations for reports to top management
- Proactively identify, pursue, and maintain a constant pipeline of prospects that will meet or exceed assigned quota
- Secure new accounts by actively prospecting and identifying potential customers
- Maintain current knowledge of freight carrier services, rate, and regulations to provide accurate and up-to-date information to customers
- Coordinate rates and contracts with GUS Procurement to ensure suppliers have competitive pricing and satisfactory service
- Lead sales of prospecting, pursuing, presenting, and successfully closing complex Transportation Management or Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) solutions to C level executives of large corporations
- Study potential investments, JVs or M&A activities in Maquiladora business area in order to secure growth

- Manage all personnel, productivity, and activities within the department creatively and and with a sense of urgency to develop customer-based solutions
- Monitor, supervise, and manage working efficiency, MBOs, KPIs, and service contracts
- Make recommendations for organizational development within the Maquiladora organization
- Lead, coach, enforce, empower, and direct reports to perform and achieve goals in line with Company values, overall strategy, and department goals while adhering to Company SOP and policies
- Be an expert in the industry by staying current with relevant trends, developments, competitors, and innovative solutions
- Create and build new business opportunities/relationships
- Support overall Company Objectives

- Represent Glovis as industry events or similar representation opportunities
- All other duties as assigned
- Execute monthly business plan and all actions to recover shortfall, if needed
- Generate new business leads through prospecting, cold-calling, and face to face meetings
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills when negotiating contracts and/or bids and building long term relationships with potential external partners and/or customers
Compensation Range
$200,854- $235,090 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead, specifically at a sizable (1,000 employee) company
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills utilized with both external and internal customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude
- Highly proficient PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Database Management Systems
- Excellent presentation skills
- Leading cross functional solutions teams in development of custom transportation solutions that demonstrate the creation of bvalue to customers and prospects
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and the flow of materials, an understanding of TMS operations and IT functionality
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- 10 - 15 Years of Direct Experience Required
- 13 - 18 Years of Direct Experience Preferred
- Experience in Sales Lead Role of Prospecting, Pursuing, Presenting, and Successfully Closing Required
- 10 Years of Indirect Experience Required
- 7 - 10 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
