Summary
The National Manager - Port Operations is responsible for overseeing all port, VPC (Vehicle Processing Centers), and IPC (Inland Processing Centers) operations, ensuring both profitability and operational success at these sites. This includes the efficient processing, shipping, and delivery of vehicles to client dealers in an expeditious manner. The Manager will ensure that both client-specific special requests (including priority vehicle processing) and general operations are handled efficiently, following the First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology for aged vehicles. The Manager will also lead the quality department, ensuring GLOVIS’ operational and quality objectives are met, while supporting the wholesale goals of GLOVIS’ clients. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for vehicle production planning and ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) management to optimize the movement and delivery of vehicles. The Manager will also coordinate with internal stakeholders within the FLV group and other GLOVIS departments, as well as external clients and vendor partners, to achieve operational goals.
Responsibilities
- Primary
- Oversee and manage all port, VPC, and IPC operations, ensuring they are being run efficiently and in accordance with company guidelines
- Ensure adherence to FIFO processing for aged vehicles, prioritizing timely and efficient handling of inventory
- Manage client special requests for priority vehicle processing, ensuring these requests are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner
- Develop and manage vehicle production planning to ensure timely processing and delivery of vehicles according to client specifications
- Oversee and manage ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) management to ensure vehicles are delivered on time and to the correct locations
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders within the FLV group and across GLOVIS departments to align operations and achieve company goals
- Collaborate with external clients and vendor partners to ensure smooth operations and fulfillment of client objectives
- Monitor and evaluate the daily activities and production levels at all sites to ensure alignment with the national operations plan
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to meet the production goals outlined in the national operations plan
- Work to achieve client wholesale objectives by ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all sites
- Drive financial performance by reviewing financial reports and conducting cause-and-effect analysis to improve profitability
- Understand the impact of specific operational activities on the financial health of the company and implement changes to drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain a focus on profitability while ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving operational success at all ports and IPCs
- Secondary
- Provide oversight and leadership to the quality department, ensuring it proactively supports GLOVIS’ field operations
- Serve as the primary liaison between GLOVIS and the client quality teams, identifying issues, developing solutions, and working with site management to implement those solutions
- Ensure compliance with all GLOVIS quality policies and standards across all operations
- Ad hoc duties as assigned
Compensation
$142,000- $162,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient PC skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, database management systems
- Data "Mining" Experience (SAP, AS400, System 36, etc.)
- Presentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking and decision-making skills
- Time management and organization skills, with ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
- Required Field of Experience: Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management
- Automotive Industry and Finance Experience Also Preferred
- 10 - 15 Years of Direct Experience Required
- 13 - 18 Years Preferred
- 4 - 7 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
- 7 - 10 Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
