Outbound Operations Specialist

The Outbound Specialist is responsible for the JIT, JIS, and Breakdown operational process. The Outbound Specialist must be good with excel, PowerPoint and doing layouts for different departments. The Outbound Specialist will have to give presentations to senior staff. The specialist needs to be flexible and be on time with all assignments. The specialist will help with SOP's and drive all issues within all departments. The Specialist will be helping with controlling company assets and drive counter measures to correct quality issues.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1st Shift (Expected from 6:00AM-3:30PM) (Rotating weekends and overtime may be required) (Schedule is subject to change based on production requirements)

Location: Onsite, Ellabell, GA 31308

Responsibilities for an Outbound Operations Specialist:

• Promote a culture of safety within the organization through behavioral focus, training, and accountability. Champion initiatives focused on creating an incident free workplace.
• Manage operation staff in day-to-day department activities ensuring policies and procedures are carried out to achieve established business company goals and objectives.
• Report on daily activities/problems/solutions etc. Initiate continuous improvement activities to remove process barriers, reduce waste, and improve efficiencies.
• Manage and monitor metrics for Monthly/Weekly logistics reports (stock level, logistic cost, downtime, shortage).
• Oversee material control, operating standards, inventory management, and Outbound logistics flow.
• Communicate effectively with the customer by relaying issues and acting as a liaison between supporting vendors and management.
• Lead PowerPoint presentations regarding process, updates, issues, etc. to senior leadership.
• Investigates all issues that occur during the operational process and report findings to management.
• Conduct ‘one-point’ lessons to all departments that have process issues that need to be corrected.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for an Outbound Operations Specialist:

• High School Diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent is required
• Bachelors degree or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
• At least 5 years of experience in a fast-paced logistics or manufacturing environment
• Automotive manufacturing/logistics experience is a plus
• WMS such as SAP experience is desired
• High volume inventory management experience
• Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel as well as basic office software (printer, scanner, PC, etc.)
• Process Flow & Continuous Improvement experience is desired
• Conflict Resolution & Leadership Skills

• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
• Ability to bend, turn, and use peripherals as required to operate equipment safely within company standard operator procedures.
• Able to operate heavy machinery including a forklift, tugger, and/or stock chaser.
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing up to 50 lbs., depending on the location, throughout shift.
• Able to work in a warehouse environment for up to 8-hour shifts, and any overtime hours if applicable.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Outbound Operations Specialist is $55,700-$58,700. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
