What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician (100% Travel) position at Glow Networks?
Key Responsibilities:
Fiber Optic Installation & Testing:
- Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode & multi-mode).
- Perform fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and troubleshooting of fiber connections.
Data Center & Rack & Stack Deployment:
- Perform rack and stack of servers, switches, and network equipment.
- Organize, label, and secure cables for proper cable management.
- Ensure proper grounding, airflow, and power connections in racks.
DC Power & Electrical Systems:
- Install and maintain DC power systems, including batteries, rectifiers, and inverters.
- Perform power audits, voltage checks, and troubleshoot power issues.
Structured Cabling & Network Infrastructure:
- Install, terminate, and route Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber cabling.
- Follow industry standards (BICSI, ANSI/TIA-568, NEC) for structured cabling.
On-Site Troubleshooting & Support:
- Diagnose and repair network, fiber, and power issues at customer locations.
- Work independently or with remote teams to resolve service tickets.
Salary : $20 - $28
