Position Summary:
GMA Construction Group is actively seeking an experienced Controller or CFO with a proven track record in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have the experience and insight to establish robust financial systems, oversee accounting and budgeting processes, and implement financial strategies that align with our mission and growth objectives. We need someone agile and adaptable, who is unafraid of change and ready to lead the finance department through rapid growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement financial strategies that support company goals, growth, and profitability. Collaborate with leadership to create annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Lead all financial reporting, analysis, and variance tracking, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Construction Industry Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance within construction finance standards, including project costing, WIP (Work in Progress) schedules, and revenue recognition.
- System & Process Development: Create and improve financial systems, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and clarity within the organization.
- Cash Flow & Capital Management: Oversee cash flow, manage working capital, and implement financial models to support sustainable business growth.
- Risk Management & Audit: Develop risk management policies and support internal audits to ensure regulatory compliance and financial security.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, develop, and manage the finance team to support operational goals and foster professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10 years in finance, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior financial leadership role within the construction industry.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction industry financial practices, including job costing, revenue recognition, and cash flow management.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, implement change, and create a positive, goal-oriented work culture.
- Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Willing to address challenges, adapt to evolving company needs, and innovate where necessary.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, including [specific software if applicable], as well as strong Excel and financial modeling skills.

Pay Scale/Range:
Controller Range: $130,000 - $150,000 based on experience (Construction Preferred)
CFO Range: $160,000 - $190,000 based on experience (Construction preferred)
