DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The City of Belgrade is seeking a Director of Information Technology to join one of Montana's fastest growing cities, located in the heart of the beautiful Gallatin Valley just ten miles west of Bozeman. THE DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Reporting to the Assistant City Manager, the Director of Information Technology provides leadership and plans, directs, and coordinates the overall operations and activities of the Information Technology department. The Director provides assistance to all City departments by hearing needs and translating those needs and wants into practical, efficient, and effective solutions. The Director must establish and maintain effective working relationships with City administration, staff, City Council, vendors, other government agencies, and the general public. The Director also ensures efficient and effective access to information and related technology for all City offices and buildings. Extensive leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The department operates under the guidance of a budget of $1,174,428 with direct reports including the IT Specialist and GIS Administrator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides leadership and direction to the Information Technology department.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates the overall operations and activities of the Information Technology department.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborates with other City departments to identify and address IT needs.
• Ensures the security and integrity of the City's computer systems and data.
• Manages the development and implementation of new technologies and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior IT leadership role.
• Proven track record of success in leading IT teams and implementing strategic initiatives.
• Strong technical knowledge and expertise in IT infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience working in a local government or similar setting is highly desirable.
