Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of TMG and all affiliated transportation bases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and team leadership. As the Controller, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the overall financial health of TMG and its affiliated organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS as applicable) and company policies.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor and report on financial performance against budget and identify areas for cost control or improvement.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs, and monitor investments and financing arrangements.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish, enforce, and review internal controls to ensure financial integrity, prevent fraud, and maintain compliance with all financial regulations. Coordinate audits and manage any audit-related queries.
- Accounting Oversight: Supervise the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and fixed assets. Ensure proper accounting systems are in place and function efficiently.
- Team Growth & Development: Build and mentor an accounting team, fostering growth opportunities, defining clear roles and responsibilities, and promoting adherence to accounting best practices.
- Tax Management: Oversee tax compliance and preparation of all required filings, including income taxes, sales tax, use tax, payroll tax, and other applicable taxes.
- Financial Analysis & Strategy: Provide financial analysis to senior management, offering insights and recommendations to support decision-making and long-term financial strategy.
- ERP System Management: Lead the implementation and maintenance of accounting software/ERP systems to streamline financial operations and reporting.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as operations, HR, and sales, to ensure financial systems and reporting meet the needs of the entire organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, tax regulations, and auditing procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise required).
- Experience with ERP systems and financial software implementations.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide clear financial insights to executive leadership.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience in healthcare or transportation.
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling and analysis.
- Previous experience in financial forecasting and strategic planning.
Work Location: In-person and on-site.
Reporting: Reports directly to the TMG Chief Operating Officer.
Salary:
- Range: $115,000-130,000
- Bonus: To be determined, with potential total compensation of up to $150,000
- Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, and skills.
