Kitchen Assistant:
Salary Range - $22 to 28 hourly DOE
Preferred Experience -
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in restaurant cooking, hotel, hospital or in an institutional setting.
Current SERVESAFE Certification or successfully completed a sanitation course in the last 12 months.
Current food handlers card and other certifications as required by fed/state local laws.
Ideal hours – 6:30 am to 3 pm.
Will be the right hand to the Chef in the prep / assembly and service of meals for employees (Breakfast AND Lunch), guests, clients - as well as keep a clean kitchen and maintain all kitchen equipment. Will also participate in preparation and service for sales meeting, and food tastings.
Assist with all prep and cleaning, food inventory, assist with receipt of food delivery, organize storage of food in refrigerator, freezer and dry storage.
Soft Skills - A self-starter. Dependable, Organized, Proactive, ability to prioritize work and take direction, work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
Upbeat personality with ability to develop relationships with staff, vendors and suppliers. High level of commitment to customer service.
Experience / Attributes Most Liked to Success in this role - Be on time and prepared each day - with the ability to keep and maintain a clean kitchen and equipment, support all meal planning and preparation under direction of Chef, actively and knowledgably assist in sales meeting with vendors. In addition, they will participate in opening the kitchen for daily use and in the assembly and preparation of Employee breakfast and lunch. Will also be responsible to keep kitchen equipment , dishes and full kitchen area clean.
