Job Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for tracking, organizing, and managing parts, hardware, and materials used by the Installation Department. This position ensures that the team has the correct parts on hand to complete truck builds efficiently and on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, store, and organize parts, tools, and supplies for the Installation Department.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are correct.
- Issue parts and materials to installation technicians as needed.
- Track usage of parts and notify supervisor when items need to be reordered.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and report any shortages or damaged items.
- Keep storage areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Assist with regular cycle counts and full inventory audits.
- Communicate inventory shortages, delays, or issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of inventory practices or warehouse work (we will train the right person).
- Ability to organize, track, and manage materials in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to lift, move, and handle parts and materials (up to 50 lbs.).
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Preferred Skills (but not required):
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse work, or material handling.
- Experience using inventory management systems or software.
- Forklift experience or willingness to be trained.
