Senior Industrial Designer

Job Description.

1. Responsible for industrial design innovation plan and design documents for the company's AR/VR and its accessories/smart audio/smart wear/smart home products.
2. Research tech trends, material insights, user observation via blogs, books, website research, patents, and scientific studies.
3. A focused mindset for verifying, planning, and executing holistic tasks in industrial design, ideation, 3D modeling, mock-ups, rendering, and appearance models.
4. Oversee the entire machine and conduct pre-research for innovation potential. Prepare the product design document specifications in collaboration with teams like CMF, Human-Machine, and UED, and coordinate with production planning and follow-up efforts with system engineering, Material science, Mechanical design, among others.
5. While designing an innovation proposal, create and execute an innovation patent plan for registration.
6. Responsible for engaging customers and addressing their design requirements, effectively collaborate with the R&D department to guarantee high-quality industrial design services throughout the entire process, from conceptual design to the delivery of final POC, NPI or MP.

Qualifications:

Basic requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in industrial design-related professional background.
2. At least 5 years and above working experience in industrial design field, with rich project experience and results demonstration.
3. Proficient with design software and tools, capable of turning concepts into high-quality design solutions, and good understanding about product manufacturing and materials.
4. Curiosity to explore unfamiliar areas and passion for design.

Preferred :

Bachelor and Master degree is a plus

Excellent communication skills, able to work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill customer needs.

Maintain a keen insight into design trends and innovations, able to bring forward-looking design ideas to the company, and possess a certain degree of product manager thinking.

Strong English communication skills, with the ability to fluently read, write, and articulate ideas and relevant design documents. Proficiency in Mandarin or Japanese is an added advantage.
