Overview
GCG Automation & Factory Solutions is currently seeking a Software Implementation Manager to lead and support a growing portfolio of software projects focused on improving operational efficiency and business process optimization. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of technology initiatives, including requirements gathering, process analysis, system design, implementation, and stakeholder engagement.
Projects will span across commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, custom-built applications, and integrated system enhancements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including IT, business process owners, and system users—to align technology solutions with business needs. This role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth and project variety.
This role offers a remote work arrangement however candidates must be located within a reasonable travel distance of our facilities in one of the following areas:
- Pittsburgh, PA
- Dayton, OH
- Detroit, MI
- St Louis, MO
Occasional travel to corporate facilities located in one of the above locations will be necessary.
What you’ll do
Business Process Optimization
- Collaborate with business teams to document current and desired workflows and convert them into system functional requirements
- Translate requirements into system configurations, workflows, and performance metrics
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for system effectiveness and efficiency
- Identify automation opportunities and process improvements across departments
Systems Architecture
- Evaluate current tools and systems, defining requirements for enhancements or new integrations
- Design scalable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture best practices
- Lead system architecture discussions and ensure alignment with business goals
Software Implementation
- Oversee the design, testing, rollout, and training phases of new software implementations
- Create supporting documentation including user guides, training materials, and test plans
- Coordinate with technical teams to ensure successful system delivery
System Management & Integration
- Maintain system configurations, user profiles, and access permissions
- Support integration troubleshooting, configuration adjustments, and data integrity assurance
- Provide hands-on support for system enhancements and version upgrades
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the liaison between business and IT teams, ensuring solutions meet business objectives
- Facilitate collaboration among stakeholders, developers, and end users
- Present and communicate system changes, architecture, and process designs to key decision-makers
Project Management & Delivery
- Manage software implementation projects from concept to completion
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Support compliance with internal IT policies, regulatory standards, and security protocols
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to propose innovative system enhancements
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Recommend and implement enhancements to improve system usability and adoption
Risk & Security Oversight
- Partner with IT to ensure system changes comply with security and governance protocols
- Proactively identify risks related to system implementations and integration
What you’ll bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems, or related field
- 5 years of experience in software implementation, systems architecture, business process management, or IT project leadership
- Experience working across cross-functional teams to design and deploy enterprise technology solutions
- Background in data structures, system integrations, and business analytics
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Solid understanding of business process optimization, enterprise software, and systems architecture
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and SaaS tools (e.g., Zendesk, Salesforce, Aldridge)
- Experience with ERP systems, database design, and enterprise application management
- Strong foundation in project management methodologies and enterprise architecture tools
Soft Skills & Capabilities
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering practical, user-focused solutions
Preferred
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environments
- Working knowledge of distribution or manufacturing ERP systems
- Familiarity with IT compliance, security, and governance standards
