Responsibilities
- New product design, with ability to create development tracking, coordination with Factory New Model groups, and improve R&D development systems
- Coordinate layout development projects including customer interface, model layouts, drawing creation, drawing issue, prototype development and factory interface and schedule. Create parts lists and maturation/maintenance tracking
- Assist with Technical Evaluation Coordination and preparations
- Investigate and document current trends in the automotive industry
- Identify future development items for product improvement and innovation. Develop these ideas using prototypes
- Assist customer with root cause analysis and provide counter measure for concern items
- Reports weekly work capturing activity on various projects, status and completion timing
- Communicate effectively with the Japanese and Local staff – customers - other Facilities
- Participate in department efficiency improvement activities
- Other tasks as required by Management
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university with five (5) years automotive experience or eight (8 ) years of experience preferably in the automotive industry
- Experience designing and working with automotive components and assemblies like Sun Roof systems
- Experience working with sheet metal and plastic components
- Catia V5 / V6 CAD software experience including surfacing, solid modeling, drafting and assembly. NX experience is a bonus
- Statistical process control principles
