This role will support engineering design and development activities.
\n- Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
- Create part specification requirements and BOM.
- Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
- Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
- Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
- Travel to client sites required.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 5 years industry experience developing Electromechanical systems
- Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
- Experience using 3-D modeling software Solidworks is required and good to have CATIA V5 or V6 skills.
- Experience in Medical / Automotive domain developing and designing various electromechanical systems is required.
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) for plastics and sheet metal components is required.
- Ability to identify components and evaluate technical requirements considering packaging, DFM and costs at a system level is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS office.
