This position is an excellent opportunity for a teacher interested in pursuing an administrative career with a focus on elementary instruction, developmental social/behavior support, and professional development opportunities. The position is open until filled and begins August 11, 2025.
Essential Functions:
Manage day-to-day student activities, student discipline procedures, support Positive Behavior Intervention Systems, student supervision, and support the building principal in other duties and projects as necessary. Instructional excellence and coaching teachers in the 5-D of Teaching and Learning is required. There is a need to understand math content and concepts at the elementary level to help support teachers instructionally with the math curriculum. This position will also support teachers and students within the new reading curriculum and supporting professional learning that aligns with best practices in reading and writing instruction. This position will not evaluate certificated staff nor authorize building budget expenditures, however, this position will evaluate and work closely with all classified staff members. The dean of students reports directly to the principal.
Position Description:
- Implementation of district discipline policies and building procedures in a fair and consistent manner, seeking support from the building principal as necessary and appropriate while simultaneously supporting Positive Behavior Intervention Systems. Work closely with the Para-Interventionist in the Success Room and Counselor daily to better support students.
- Communicate effectively with parents daily in response to behavior intervention and supports for students and families Pre-K-5.
- Work with the attendance secretary and Counselor to monitor and oversee attendance procedures throughout the building.
- Serve as a Special Education Designee as needed.
- Assist in development and implementation of student intervention programs for academic, emotional, behavioral and social difficulties.
- Assist the principal with the development and scheduling of Title and LAP academic intervention programs.
- Organize, edit, and meet federal and state guidelines for the annual Title and LAP reporting.
- Facilitate safety procedures in the building, coordinating drills to meet State Law.
- Be visible throughout the building promoting positive interactions with students and staff. Create and develop/implement other student leadership opportunities as available.
- Be visible to the community through evening events and family engagement experiences.
- Coach teachers and staff members in best practices for teaching academics and behaviors.
- Coach all staff in the areas of differentiation and reaching all students at their individual levels.
- Facilitate various grade level Professional Learning Communities.
- Co-facilitate occasional Professional Development trainings and staff meetings.
- Organize, schedule, and supervise 5th Grade Camp and other ASB clubs/opportunities as necessary.
- Organize and schedule 5th Grade Promotion, Community Day, Kindergarten Info Night, and Curriculum Night.
- Substitute in classrooms as needed when certificated subs are not available.
- Other duties and special projects as directed by the building principal.
Qualifications:
Evidence of at least 3 years of excellent elementary level teaching experience and knowledge of the 5-Dimensions of Teaching and Learning instructional frameworks.
Evidence of consistent attendance and punctuality.
Experience in working with student discipline, including communication and follow-through with staff and parents.
Ability to be meet deadlines, work through difficult situations, and multi-task.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others.
Must have or currently be pursuing state administrative credentials
